In the amount of time it takes to say the word “telecommunications,” information can be transmitted from one side of the world and received on the other. Even though simpler forms of this concept have been around since the late 1800s, modern technology has enabled a seemingly endless amount of data to be transferred globally, and within a matter of seconds. Because of this technology, the world is interconnected via cyberspace and its predecessors: the radio, the TV, and the telephone.
